PARISH SECRETARY (OPS/SS 1)
For the parish of St. James
SCOPE OF JOB
Under the supervision of the Parish Manager, the Secretary 1 (OPS/SS 1) is responsible for providing secretarial and
administrative services to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AREAS
- Types letters, memoranda and reports from draft notes
- Records, sorts and dispatched incoming/outgoing correspondence
- Receives and directs all telephone calls to relevant officers
- Disseminates information to internal/external customers
- Screens and directs visitor to the appropriate officers
- Monitors and requests files for relevant officers
- Prepares and collates documents
- Maintains an efficient filing system
- Prepares receipts for monies received
- Monitors and request praedial receipt books
- Prepares and makes lodgment and submits the information to head office
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Three CSEC/CXC subjects including English Language
- Successful completion of a course of study at an accredited Secretarial School OR Certified ProfessionalSecretary (CPS) certification.
- Proficiency in typewriting at a speed of 30-35 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of word processing software (basic level) would be an additional asset at this level.
